Phonathon and promiscuity managed to co-exist almost successfully. It was perhaps a more subdued event than it has been in past, but that seemed appropriate with the host of bad news that has been plaguing Streetbeat of late. This evening marked the end of Gramaphone's sponsorship of Streetbeat programming on WNUR, alongside the earlier setbacks, such as the discontinuation of streetbeat mixes for phonathon and otherwise (mix CDs no saigo), 3rd rail's temporary resignation, and ongoing problems with the coffin and mail systems at the station, and finally no food for sb phonathon shifts. Fun. But in happier news, Promiscuity was graced by SPECIAL (and by special, I mean surprise) GUEST APPEARANCES from Tetric (Japan) and Dylan Drazen (NYC). Check the line above the playlists for the full line-up of people who actually played. Strangely, this fourth edition was also notable in the high number of attendees (only 4 no-shows) but also high number of attendees who for some reason elected not to participate. In the studio were also David Siska, DJ Skinny, Plastique. Other hangers on were Alanna, tall Nick and fashionable Thom. Sadly Audiophile couldn't make it (houseparty), nor could Mercedez (sickie) but they let me know so it was all good. All in all, a great attendance rate and great performances make the host a happy deejay. And there were barely any fistfights
