thanks to everyone who came out to play (you
can see their names by the playlists above) as well as to david shino &
suz, madrid & sadie, yard & cat, ian, julia & julia, lse, diz, and
everyone else who came out and supported. the prelude during the recording is
provided by marc hellner's ipod.
addendums: apparently this was not only the last m50@m@d, but also the last
m@d ever. with a run of over 6 years, this was one of Chicago's longest-running
residencies; impressive, especially in light of its dedication to experimental
audio in the forms of live performance and dj sets, including (just in my memory)
features like Lazy FM (a night dedicated to cult-film soundtrack live-re-edits
played alongside the original visuals), Cylob, Jimmy Edgar, Telefon Tel Aviv,
Soultek, Signaldrift, Def Harmonic, String Theory, Proswell... and pretty much
every major experimental / idm / downtempo artist in and around Chicago. I was
only part of it for a couple years but it was my accidental honour to host the
last episode and again, thank everyone who came out and made the night happen.
also, if you played this night and your setlist is incomplete or incorrect above,
please contact me so I can post the correct data.
